It’s all about finding the eReader for you

So you’ve finally decided to go through with it and buy an eReader! Well that’s great, but just like every other electronic there’s competition. But just like every competition there are the brands that come out on top. So in today’s article we will be finding an eReader for you from the selection of Sony’s PRS series, the Kindle and Barnes and Noble’s Nook.

I should say, Nook has had a lot of criticism over its bad launch with buggy firmware. But firmware 1.2 looks to have fixed most user’s issues. To me, buying the Nook over the Kindle I would need to have a Barnes & Noble near by, just to take advantage of in store deals on the Nook. I prefer the Kindle(2 mind you) over the Nook preferably other than that.

What do you want your eReader to be able to do? The PRS-300 is great for travel because of its pocket fitting design, PRS-505 is better for memory but is a little bigger, but that also means more screen space. Sony is also good when it comes to customization, like color! Why haven’t we seen this introduced to the Kindle? Sony also accepts a wider format range for you’re eBooks, which is something to really consider (and to look into if the eBook store you are planning to buy from) But generally Sony accepts everything, and everything I’ve thrown at it so far. Also, Sony comes with page numbers(no kidding, but c’mon Kindle why don’t you have such a simple but needed feature)

If your one of those people who always has to be on the internet, then I guess I would say the Kindle just because of its coverage, and how cheap it is(FREE!!). But if you’re looking to buy a device for browsing the web, look for something similar to the iPad, however; maybe not the iPad itself. Yet to try the new Sony device I cant say much about it.

Need a touch screen? be prepared to spend $100-$300 more. I don’t know why people are so drawn to touch screens, especially for an eReader, since you will most likely use your fingers more then the stylist it comes with, have fun with all the finger prints while you read, and the added blur. But if you do, Sony has a great selection of touch screen readers.

So what reader are you? Well it always depends on who you are, and because of that maybe you completely disagree with my article, but if not… Great!! And I hope I’ve helped you make a great decision.
